Real Estate
Overview
If you are selling or buying real estate, you want a seamless transaction so that the process reflects one of the happiest times in your life.
Real estate transactions are one of the rare areas of the law where everyone is generally happy — the Seller wants to sell and the Buyers want to buy. It is the attorney’s job to review and advise clients on all aspects of the transaction and draft documents to reflect each client’s unique circumstances.
Making Sure You Are Protected
Very often, real estate transactions involve Broker’s Agreements, Offers and Purchase and Sales Agreements. These documents are binding contracts. It is critical to consult an attorney before you sign any documents to ensure they meet the your individual circumstances and that you understand your obligations.
Many times, clients report that they just signed the “standard” form without making any changes. While the standard form is a good starting point, it does not meet the needs of every situation nor does it ensure each client is protected from all the issues which may arise.
Attorney Voss Lees can help you negotiate the best terms possible for your transaction and ensure that you are protected. Sometimes, title issues or condition issues arise that need to be negotiated. Attorney Voss Lees will help resolve those issues and explain the processes that follow, including the mortgage application and closing process.
Once the transaction is ready to close, Attorney Voss Lees will explain all the documents that are necessary to sign, prepare and, most importantly, review the financial components of the transaction to ensure that the numbers are correct.
